Colorado Front Range

 This was what the front range looked like today when I went for a ride on my motorcycle.

Dandelion

I am experimenting with an older 28mm lens with a macro extension tube attachment. At first I was disappointed with the results and deleted a bunch of pictures. Then I happened across some pictures taken with a Lensbaby lens. The results are pretty similar don't you think?

Sunrise March 29, 2012

Plumb Tree Flower

The plumb tree in my yard is in full  bloom. This is the first time in many years it didn't get frost to kill the buds. I have never seen so many blossoms on it.

Dusty Sunset

 I added quite a bit of shadow and this is the effect that popped out. I thought it was pretty cool.

Here on the front range we get a few days each year with high winds and very low humidity. Many times this creates a dust storm, like it did today. I took these photos just as the sun was setting and all the dust acted like a filter producing these interesting sunset photos. At times the dust is so thick the mountains are practically blocked from view.

Trees are Budding

I was sitting in the backyard the other day and looked up when a shadow fell across my face. This photo shows what I saw.

Canadian Geese

Windmill in Sunrise

I was able to stitch two pictures together to make this photo. I sat in my truck to watch the sunrise because the wind was blowing 30+ mph. It was soooo cold.

Garden of the Gods

These pictures are from the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs. I have visited the park many times over the years I have lived here and every time I seem to see something new or different. I have hiked around some of the trails that circumference the park and it is awesome to be able to view the formations from different angle and elevations.

Double-crested Cormorants nesting

These nesting cormorants sure are noisy critters. They seem to like to nest in these high dead tree branches. This picture was taken at the Holcim Wetlands just outside of Florence, Co.

Mountain View

I should have noted what mountain this is but I didn't. I will just have to go for a drive again and go see what mountain this is.

Scrub Jay

This bird was waiting for a handout. He hopped right up to me when I was taking pictures at Garden of the Gods Park.

Morning After Snow

The mountain in the center is Pikes Peak. This photo is from a park a few blocks from my house after an overnight snow of a couple inches.

This cloud photo was taken on a drive last weekend. Love the swirls in them.
